A year has passed as one of the most beautiful places on earth battles with lockdown and pandemic, facing a double whammy. Kashmiris are dealing with both the coronavirus pandemic and an erosion of their political freedom and right to self-determination. They have been living under a government-imposed lockdown since August 2019, almost a year now and it is having a disastrous economic, social and political impact on the people of Kashmir. To garner attention of the international community and relevant platforms, MIDAS (Private) Limited, Pakistan’s biggest advertising agency has compiled the logistics of the Indian lockdown in the occupied valley. It gives a detailed quantitative depiction of the situation inside Jammu and Kashmir in order to signify the impact of lockdown and human rights violations on the Kashmiri people. This report aims to help break the silence of influential governments all over the world to extend support for the oppressed people of the Jammu and Kashmir.
